Set 1 - 3-Letter Word, Single Sentences

3 Letter Word Single Sentences

Sets 1-5 of our learn to read books feature children as the main characters. Each set is $9.95 and contains 10 books, 8 pages each.

The focus with Set 1 is basic three-letter phonetic words in sentences. Only short vowel sounds are used such as the "a" in cat. These books contain one sentence per page with only a few sight words. They are a great beginning place for emerging readers to have fun and success when learning to read books. Sample page: "Jim is six."

Before reading this series, children will do best if they have:

2. Practice and mastery reading short sentences of three-letter phonetic words. An ideal way to do this is to use our four sets of sentence reading booklets. These are the best way of helping your child to have a successful and fun experience with these books.


Set 2 - 3-Letter Word Double Sentences

3 Letter Word Double Sentences

Set 2 focuses on basic three-letter phonetic words in sentences. Only short vowel sounds are used such as the "a" in "cat". These books contain one or more sentences per page with only a few sight words. These books are a great beginning place for emerging readers to have fun and success with reading books. Sample page: "Dot has a job. Dot gets the pods."

Before reading this series, children will do best if they have:

Set 3 - Consonant Blends

Consonant Blends

The set works with consonant blends. These are basic four-letter phonetic words in sentences. Only short vowel sounds are used such as the "a" in "clap". Each book has one or more sentences per page with just a few sight words per book. These books are a great beginning place for emerging readers to have fun and success with reading books. Sample page: "Gwen has her flag for the band. Gwen plans an act in the band."

Before reading this series, children will do best if they have:

Set 4 - Blends and Syllables

Blends and Syllables

The focus of this set is on words with advanced consonant blends, such as "drift" and "sprint". You child will also practice reading words with two or more syllables, such as "robin", "sunset" and "pumpkin". Each book contains one or more sentences per page with only a few sight words. Sample page: "The muffins get plump. The muffins get crisp. Krista can smell the muffins."

Before reading this series, children will do best if they have:

Set 5 - Silent Final 'e'

Silent Final e

This set features words with silent final 'e'. Each book has one or more sentences per page with just a few sight words per book. Sample page: "At the pines, Mike slides into the pipe. He sets his hand in the fine sand."

Before reading this series, children will do best if they have:

Set 6 - Phonograms

Phonograms

Each book in this set focuses on a single phonogram, such as "sh." The sentences are cleverly written to include an abundance of words with this phonogram, but not so many that they become tongue-twisters. Only one phonogram is practiced in each book. Sample page from "oa" book: "Joan floats in her boat. She uses the oars on the boat."
