When your child has mastered of the first 26 basic letter sounds of the alphabet, it’s time to learn how to string them together to make words. Our cards are specially designed so students will say the letter sounds of each word before seeing the matching pictures. This reinforces word sound mastery before associating a word with in image.
The sets are organized into vowel groups to help your child practice with each of the vowels. You can mix the card sets up later for variety. Careful attention has been used to insure that only phonetic words and the most commonly occurring sound of each letter are used. At this stage of reading development we don’t want to introduce advanced phonics.
